Accessibility Guidelines for Presenters
Presenters are encouraged to provide a safe and accessible presentation for all attendees. Presenters will be expected to have captioning available for their presentations and additional resources and guidance will be provided for accepted presenters. Contact Conference Coordinator at prinfo@hawaii.edu for additional assistance.
Registration Required for Presenters
All accepted presenters are required to register for the conference by December 31, 2023. Presenters who do not register by the deadline will be bumped to the waitlist and a spot cannot be guaranteed. If in-person activities are made available, all presenters are responsible for securing and paying for travel, lodging, and arranging all personal childcare responsibilities. Pac Rim will not cover any additional costs such as online tools, assessments, books, or other presentation materials.
Presenter Commitment to Participate
As a professional courtesy, presenters are asked to honor a Commitment to Participate as conference attendees by attending other conference presentation sessions. This commitment celebrates a positive, interactive environment and promotes networks to mobile together for meaningful action. If you need acceptance to present a letter to obtain a visa, you should plan to submit in the earlier rounds. In order to obtain a visa letter, please contact the registration team at prreg@hawaii.edu once you’ve received your Pac Rim 2024 acceptance to present letter.
Proposal Cancellation Policy
A proposal or presentation can be canceled in your online account. In consideration for the many volunteer hours by the volunteer strand leads, volunteer topic chairs and volunteer reviewers, a cancellation should be completed as early as possible. In addition, an early cancellation will provide an opportunity for other authors that are on the waitlist.
Review Timeline
The call for proposals process will have one review cycle:
- Oct 1, 2023 HST [Proposals due] and Dec 5, 2023 Results [accept, accepts with revisions, decline].
Conference Proceedings
In order to publish in the conference proceedings, all authors must present at Pac Rim 2024. The conference proceedings are published in the Review of Disability Studies: An International Journal. As thus, the publication process will be processed through the journal’s online management system. For more information please see https://rdsjournal.org/index.php/journal/about/submissions and contact rdsj@hawaii.edu with any additional questions.
