Volunteer Shifts

Volunteer shifts will take place during the 2024 Pac Rim Conference from 7 AM to 6 PM. Please plan to volunteer for either one full day, or two half days over the two conference days in order to receive a complimentary conference registration. There are limited opportunities to volunteer on Monday for Conference set-up and the Film Festival.

Volunteer Positions

Floater Session Monitor (10 positions)
Check-in with presenters, communicate with IT, monitor the time, make sure the room is accessible, help attendees if needed, and provide help with the Whova App for session feedback. This position will connect you to the conference presenters.

Greeters / Lunch / Reception Monitor (6 positions)
Be a point of contact for direction, guidance, and assistance for conference participants and conference presenters. Assist people in finding what they are looking for at the venue. You will also support monitoring the rooms. This position will keep you on your feet and connected to conference attendees.

Information Table / Table for Accessibility and Accommodation (6 positions)
Be a point of contact at the information table, where attendees will stop for assistance or guidance. Direct conference participants and connect them to any form of assistance. This position will connect you to the conference attendees.

Poster Session Room Monitor (3 positions)
In combination with Floater and Greeter. Be a point of contact for direction and guidance for conference participants and poster presenters. Direct people in the room to guarantee smooth procedures. This position will expose you to the unique atmosphere of poster presentations.

Exhibitor Room Monitor (3 positions)
In combination with Floater and Greeter. Be a point of contact for direction and guidance for conference participants and exhibitors. Direct people in the room to guarantee smooth procedures. This position will connect you to the conference exhibitors.

Volunteer Training Sessions

Volunteer training sessions are provided online and in person at the Hawai‘i Convention Center.
