Call for Presentation Proposals 2026: Pacific Rim International Conference on Disability
[Honolulu, Hawaiʻi, September 30, 2025] – The University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa’s Center on Disability Studies, in the College of Education, will be accepting presentation proposals for the 41st Annual Pacific Rim International Conference on Disability on Wednesday, May 27 – Saturday, May 30, 2026 in Honolulu, Hawaiʻi. Presentation proposal submissions are currently open and will be accepted until Nov 14, 2025 at https://go.hawaii.edu/hUr, with a priority submission and scholarship date of Oct 5.
This year’s theme, Unbreakable Threads: Communities of Resilience and Continuity, will highlight the following #PacRim2026 conference strands:
- Disability Studies in Education
- Inclusive Health and Movement: Innovation in Adapted Physical Activity and Community Well-being
- Inclusive Higher Education at a Crossroads: 15 Years of Growth, Innovation, and the Challenges Ahead
- Innovative Workforce: Disability and the Future of Work
- Through the Lens to the Media Arts: Disability, Creativity, and Culture
We welcome proposals from researchers, advocates, practitioners, business, educators, students, and all who are committed to creating spaces in which people with disabilities and diverse backgrounds can flourish. All proposals will be anonymously peer-reviewed, and authors will be notified of acceptance decisions by Oct 30, 2025 (pre/scholarship) and Dec 12, 2025 (final).
Presentation styles include research and practice, fireside chats, panels, and training that are delivered in a two-hour session, posters, 25-minute topical, NEW 45-min hybrid live steam, recorded, or 60-minute breakout session.
