Overview

This interactive conference session, co-hosted by the Developmental Disabilities Network Journal (DDNJ) and the Review of Disability Studies (RDS), offers a unique opportunity to engage with the landscape of academic publishing in disability studies. Editors from both journals will be joined by experienced reviewers and published authors to provide practical guidance and answer your questions about writing, submitting, and publishing impactful research.

This session goes beyond the mechanics of publishing to address critical issues of accessibility and inclusion. Learn how to:

  • Prepare manuscripts that are accessible to a wide range of readers, including those with diverse disabilities.
  • Navigate the peer review process with confidence.
  • Incorporate inclusive research methodologies that center the voices and experiences of people with disabilities.
  • Contribute to a more equitable and representative body of scholarship in disability studies.
Whether you are a new researcher, a self-advocate, or an established scholar, this session will equip you with the tools and knowledge to effectively share your work and contribute to the vibrant field of disability studies.
